Welcome to Miles Conrad Encaustics. These Terms and Conditions apply when you visit custom-encaustics.com or purchase products through this website. By placing an order, you agree to these terms.
Products
We make reasonable efforts to display each product accurately. Because encaustic paint and other handmade products may contain natural variations in texture, color, surface, and appearance, the item you receive may not look exactly the same under all lighting conditions or as rendered on every computer screen. These variations are part of the handmade nature of the work and are not considered defects.
Orders and Availability
All orders are subject to acceptance and product availability. We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order because of an error in pricing or product information, suspected fraud, inability to fulfill the order, or other reasonable circumstances. If we cancel an order after payment has been collected, the amount paid will be refunded to the original payment method. If an order has been placed, but a transaction has not cleared, the sale will be cancelled and no refund is due.
Prices and Payment
Prices are shown in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated. Applicable taxes, shipping charges, and other costs will be displayed during checkout. Payments are processed securely through third-party payment providers. We do not control a customer’s bank, card issuer, or payment provider and are not responsible for delays caused by those institutions.
Order Cancellations
Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel an order. An in-stock order may be cancelled before it has shipped. A custom or commissioned order may be cancelled before production has begun. Once an order has shipped or work on a custom order has begun, cancellation may not be possible, although the order may remain eligible under our posted return and refund policy.
Shipping and Delivery
We currently ship within the United States. Processing and delivery estimates are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed. Delivery may be affected by carrier delays, weather, holidays, address errors, or other circumstances outside our control.
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. Please contact us promptly if you discover an address error. We cannot guarantee that an address can be changed after an order has entered processing or shipment.
Returns and Refunds
Eligible returns and refunds are governed by the Return and Refund Policy posted on this website, including its 30-day return period. That policy is incorporated into these Terms and Conditions. Custom, commissioned, personalized, or otherwise made-to-order products may be subject to different return limitations when those limitations are disclosed before purchase.
Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Orders
Please contact us promptly if an order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect. Include the order number and photographs of the item and packaging when possible. We will review the matter and provide an appropriate resolution, which may include replacement, repair, or refund.
Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the artwork, photographs, designs, text, logos, and other original content displayed on this website belong to Miles Conrad Encaustics or are used with permission. Purchasing artwork or another product does not transfer copyright or grant permission to reproduce, distribute, modify, or commercially use the work.
Acceptable Use
You may not misuse this website, attempt to interfere with its operation or security, submit fraudulent orders, use automated systems to collect website content without permission, or use the website for unlawful purposes.
Website Information
We attempt to keep product descriptions, prices, availability, and other information accurate. However, occasional errors may occur. We may correct errors and update information when necessary, including after an order has been submitted. Nothing on this website constitutes professional, legal, financial, or medical advice.
Limitation of Liability

Product Use and Safety
Encaustic materials and tools involve heat and may include pigments, waxes, resins, or other substances requiring appropriate handling. Customers are responsible for learning best practices, using adequate ventilation, maintaining safe working temperatures, using suitable protective equipment, and keeping products and heated tools away from children, pets, food, and unintended uses. Products sold as art materials are not intended for ingestion, cosmetic use, or application to the body. Customers should discontinue use and seek appropriate assistance if an adverse reaction occurs.
